Closing the Loop is a Veteran owned zero waste company. We specialize in educating and providing solutions to landfill diversion. Our diversion programs include food waste, commingled recycling (glass, cans, plastic bottles), cardboard, paper, Styrofoam, IKG (kitchen oil), Construction and Demolition, pallets and scrap wood, appliances, metal, e-waste (including TV’s), grease trap pumping and restoration. We currently service commercial and residential clients in the San Diego, Temecula, Los Angeles and Orange County area.
Our mission is to design and install innovative and affordable systems for catching water — from rainwater captured in cisterns, to green roofs, to Greywater recycling — for San Diego county residents, businesses, and institutions.
Food2Soil is a social enterprise that allows restaurants to RE-source their local food web by nourishing the soil of their community gardens and urban locales. We divert food scraps away from the landfill, nourishing our local soil with their nutrients and local economies with jobs.
OnSite Waste Solutions distributes dehydration technology and equipment that reduces food waste, on-site, by 85% to 90+%, thus reducing waste hauling costs due to fewer hauler pickups. Additionally, the equipment eliminates food odors, pests and leaching issues and provides a safe and healthy work environment for employees.
The Ocean Friendly Restaurant (OFR) campaign works with San Diego County restaurants to institute self-regulated ocean friendly policies that reduce disposable plastic waste. By reducing disposable waste, restaurants have the power to greatly reduce their impact on San Diego’s ocean and beaches. Instead of punishing restaurants that have wasteful practices, San Diego Surfrider Foundation’s Rise Above Plastics committee will instead support restaurants that take it upon themselves to be ocean friendly. By engaging the restaurant community in a conversation about ocean friendly practices, we hope to significantly reduce disposable waste in our ocean and on our beaches.
